Please note the Parish council Meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday 13th July will now be held on Tuesday 20th July, as the normal meeting room isn’t big enough to allow covid-safe distancing so it has now been booked into the large room at the Memorial Hall on the next available date.
The Internal Auditor has signed off the Comberbach Parish Council accounts for 2020/21 and the Annual Return forms have been sent off to the External Auditor. As usual members of the public have a right to inspect the accounts, this year the period for exercising this right runs from Monday 14th June 2021 to Friday 23rd July 2021.
Copies of Parts 1 and 2 of the Annual Return and the notice of Public Rights are attached below.

Cheshire West and Chester are reviewing their waste strategy, which will include how our waste, garden waste and recyclables are collected and processed. They are offering residents the opportunity to have their say by email, post, and in accessible formats.

When and why is the consultation happening?
The Council is asking for views on a proposed waste strategy which will shape how the
Council delivers waste services over the next 10 years.
The ‘Don’t let your future go to waste’ consultation launches on Thursday, 21 January. The
consultation describes the current waste service in the borough, shares the challenges and
opportunities the Council faces over the next 10 years and asks for feedback on proposed
key priorities for the new Waste Strategy and options currently being considered. The scope
of the consultation includes the household waste and recycling collection service, and the
way in which the non-recycled waste is processed.
The Council’s current waste strategy was developed in 2002 and as the waste industry has
developed over this time, it’s now the right time to review it and bring forward a new waste
strategy. A new strategy is needed to ensure that our vision and priorities reflect the needs
of our communities, are aligned to emerging national plans and policies, support the climate
emergency and are delivered in a cost-effective way.
How to get involved
The eight-week consultation period starts on Thursday 21 January 2021 and closes on
Thursday 18 March 2021.

Cheshire West and Chester Council have announced a longer suspension of garden waste collections until week commencing 8th February 2021:
Garden Waste Suspension
The garden waste collection service will be suspended for a further four weeks from 11 January. This now means that garden waste collections will now resume on Monday 8 February 2021
Garden Waste is normally suspended for 4 weeks over the winter in Cheshire West and Chester, this year from 14 December 2020 resuming on 11 January 2021.
However, this is being extended until 8 February 2021 to enable CWR to use resources to support both recycling and household containers during the festive period and provide resilience to maintain the core waste and recycling kerbside collections over the anticipated exceptionally busy winter period, and as part of a proactive approach to the ongoing tiered Covid restrictions facing the borough.
From April through to September 2020 the waste volumes collected via the domestic and recycling rounds, including food waste, increased by 17% as a result of the lockdowns and residents working from home, over the Christmas Holiday and ease of lock down restriction for a short time over Christmas, this may result in additional waste and carboard/plastic and paper recycling
Residents will still be able to dispose of their real Christmas trees using the below methods:
Trees will be mulched for use throughout the year in your parks and gardens
Just Helping raise money for local hospices by collecting and recycling your real tree. Find your nearest hospice to arrange a collection.
The External Auditor has completed the audit of the Parish Council’s accounts for 2019/20, the link below is to the formal notice of completion, the right for electors to inspect the accounts, and a copy of the Parish Council’s signed Annual Return.
Here is the link to the Notice of Public Rights to inspect Comberbach Parish Council’s accounts for the financial year to March 2020, along with the annual Governance Statement and Accounting Statements for the year.
The accounts are available for inspection by arrangement between 15th June and 24th July.
