The Internal Financial Control section includes budget, actual and forecast reports as they are published.

Audit and Annual Returns shows the internal and external audit reports and the finalised Annual Return reports for each year.

Precept shows the amount requested by the Parish Council each year required to fund its activities to be charged as part of the Council Tax on each household.

Internal Financial Control

The Parish Council sets a budget for its receipts and payments prior to the start of the financial year, and measures its actual performance against this budget at the end of each quarter during and immediately following the year.

Audit and Annual Returns

The Parish Council is subject to annual internal and external audits to make sure its processes are appropriate and lawful, its income and expenditure is properly accounted for, and its annual returns are correct. The annual returns and audit reports are available here.

Precept

The funding for the parish council is allocated by Cheshire West and Chester Council and is taken from the area’s council tax; this is called an annual precept.

The Parish Council’s income and expenditure for the next financial year are planned and this amount is requested to be collected as part of the local council tax, and is paid to the parish in one instalment, usually in April at the start of the new financial year.
