Cheshire West and Chester – Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan Consultation
The Government’s Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy 2017 has the ambition to make walking and cycling the natural choice for shorter journeys.
There is recognition that realising this ambition will need sustained investment in cycling and walking infrastructure.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has declared a climate emergency and wishes to improve the cycling and walking routes across the borough to encourage residents to make more day to day short trips on cycle or on foot
To make this easier for residents, the Council has worked with partners to produce a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan for the borough, which consists of proposals for potential new walking and cycling routes.
The plan supports the Council’s ambitions to increase levels of walking and cycling in West Cheshire, improve access to jobs and services and, in doing so, to increase the health and wellbeing of our residents.
What we are consulting on
The Council has set out long-term priorities for improvements to infrastructure along cycling and walking routes in key urban areas of the borough and would like your views on these priorities, as well as any additional suggestions you have for improvements across Cheshire West.

What you tell us will be used to inform the development of these proposals. Following the end of the consultation period (consultation closes on 13th February 2020) the Council will consider all feedback and make any amendments thought necessary and incorporate them into the final Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan which will be finalised and approved by the Council in Spring 2020.

The Parish Council is hosting a Village Open Meeting at the Memorial Hall on Saturday 30th November between 1pm and 3pm.
Our PCSO, Diana Wiggins, will be there plus other local groups such as the WI, Fete Committee, Newsletter team and others as well as members of the Parish Council itself.

The Avenue will be closed for resurfacing for up to 5 days from

Cheshire West and Chester Council have issued the following to advise of resurfacing works to The Avenue for 5 days from Thursday 14th November:
Please find attached the link to a temporary road closure notice for Road Closure – The Avenue, Comberbach which commences on 14th November 2019 This is necessary for safety reasons to enable carriageway resurfacing and will be carried out by Cheshire West and Chester Council. The works are expected to last for 5 days.

The nameplates for sponsored pencils are here:
Anyone who has “sponsored a pencil” at the recreation area at the Memorial Hall will be pleased to know the nameplates have arrived.
The plan is to fit them on Sunday 27th October at starting at around 10.00 am. If anyone wants to choose their own pencil they are welcome to come to the Rec area at around 10 am on the day.
The children of Comberbach Primary School would love to invite you into School to share your memories of the local area. There will be refreshments and cakes for you to enjoy whilst sharing your photos, maps and stories about how things used to be in the past.
If you know of anyone else that would be able to share their knowledge with the children then please bring them along.

Info received from a village resident. Are you experiencing similar issues?
Over a few months, I have been having trouble with the TV reception from around 5 pm to approx 7 pm, it meant missing the end of programmes or half of them, the TV would become pixilated or I would lose the signal altogether,
I eventually called Freeview who asked me to unplug the Arial re-programme the TV, plug the Arial in again and repeat the operation which I did, this did not resolve the problem.
They then gave me a number to ring 0808 1313 800 which is a G4 contact Number, following conversation they sent me two filters to fit one as the Arial enters the house and the other just before the TV, I did this and left it a couple of weeks to monitor the situation, the problem returned.
