New telegraph poles

Residents of Comberbach may have noticed work to provide “fibre to the property” broadband in the Comberbach telephone exchange area. The installation is being undertaken by fibre optic network builder Freedom Fibre, which is being supported by TalkTalk. The installation requires some additional telegraph poles which are identified by notices at the locations. Freedom Fibre is notifying any residents potentially affected by a new pole, at the same time going through Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning application process, even though in most cases the new poles will fall under Permitted Development.

 

Freedom Fibre has briefed local councils and has provided both a link to their news item and a telephone number for residents’ queries.

Once installation is complete TalkTalk will be offering broadband speeds of 150 or 500 Mbps, and it is expected other ISPs will have access to the network in due course.
