Senna Lane closure for surface repairs

Cheshire West and Chester Council Highways have advised a one day closure of Senna Lane between 12th and 19th December for pot hole repairs and surface improvements. The document below (2 pages) refers.

Gibb Hill to be closed for resurfacing 26th August for one week

Carriageway repairs at Gibb Hill have been scheduled to commence the week beginning Monday the 26th of August with an anticipated duration of 1 week, in order to ensure that the highest level of safety is maintained a road closure with posted diversion route will be required.  The proposed works involve a full new road surface from Gibb Hill’s junction with the A559 Warrington Road to just beyond its junction with Crownest Lane.

Notice of conclusion of audit, 2023/24

The External Auditor has signed of the accounts and annual return for 2023/24, the formal Notice of Conclusion of Audit below includes copies of parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Annual Return.

D-Day 80th anniversary commemoration event, 9th June

A great turn out from the village for the D-Day 80th anniversary commemoration event at the Memorial Hall.  It was lovely to see residents get together to reminisce about their or their relatives experiences in the Second World War. With displays of those years in Comberbach, presentations and video footage of actual events, Barton Brass Band playing music of the period and a finger buffet, the event was enjoyed by all who attended.

Comberbach Beacon lit to commemorate D-Day

The D-Day commemoration held at the War Memorial on June 6th was very well attended by residents and friends of the village. The Tribute was read by Councillor Jill Johnston and the dedication to the villagers who made the ultimate sacrifice in both World Wars, by John Hardy.

Notification of Public Rights to inspect the 2023/24 Accounts

The Internal Auditor has signed off the Comberbach Parish Council accounts for 2023/24 and the Annual Return forms have been sent off to the External Auditor. As usual members of the public have a right to inspect the accounts, this year the period for exercising this right runs from Monday 3rd June 2024 to Friday 12th July 2024. The notice below shows the dates and contact details, should you wish to inspect.
